Program Description

This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of commercial roofing systems including built-up roofs, modified bitumen, single-ply roofing, metal roofing, and green roofing.

 

Program Learning Outcomes

  • Identify and describe different types of commercial roofing systems, including their components and applications.

  • Apply proper safety protocols for commercial roofing work, including identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Interpret roofing schematics and apply proper techniques in estimating, repairing and installing commercial roofing projects.
  • Apply basic principles to demonstrate proficiency with roofing equipment that includes: rollers, cutters, saws, hot-air welding, hand welding, and robot welding for commercial roofing systems.
  • Communicate effectively to facilitate successful completion of roofing projects
