EMST - 228 Special Populations 3 This course is designed to further enhance the paramedic students’ ability to recognize and treat the patients that have special needs. These special consideration patients include those with medical emergencies and trauma injuries, with an emphasis as obstetrics, neonatal care, pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with special challenges. Extensive time will be spent in the skills lab learning assessment techniques for all categories of special needs patients. Advanced EMS Provider Skills Lab and Clinical III will also run concurrently with this course. Proficiency skills will be assessed accordingly and recorded in the students Master Portfolio.
