Program Description
The Health Science curriculum is designed to initially prepare students for application and admission into the Health Division’s selective admission program areas.
For the first two semesters, students will follow the Pre-Major curriculum mapping sequences for one of the following programs:
- Pre-Dental Hygiene
- Pre-Emergency Medical Services
- Pre-Medical Laboratory Technology
- Pre-Nursing
- Pre-Respiratory Therapy
- Pre-Sonography (Both Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic Sonography)
- Pre-Veterinary Technology
If not admitted into the program of choice at the end of the second semester, the student will have the following three options:
- Transfer to Board of Governors AAS Associate degree completion program (add health-related Skill Sets if desired) or to another Associate Degree Program.
- Add a Certificate Degree in Medical Assisting (CAS) and complete the Health Sciences AAS degree.
- Add a Certificate Degree in Medical Coding (CAS) and complete the Health Sciences AAS degree.
