Program Description
The Diesel Technology Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) program prepares students for entry-level positions in the diesel service industry. This program provides foundational training in the maintenance, repair, and performance optimization of diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. Students gain hands-on experience in diesel engine operation, fuel injection systems, steering, and suspension. Coursework emphasizes safety, technical accuracy, and adherence to industry standards while combining classroom instruction with practical, shop-based learning. The curriculum includes workforce readiness training, introductory computer applications, English, Applied Technical Math, and basic welding. Students earn industry-recognized certifications such as OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR/AED, enhancing employability across a range of diesel service occupations. Graduates are equipped with the essential skills and technical knowledge to begin careers as diesel service technicians in industries such as transportation, construction, agriculture, and energy.
