Program Description:

The Machinist Technology/CNC program provides students with the technical skills and knowledge needed to operate and maintain conventional and computer numerical controlled mills, lathes, and other machining equipment used in a modern industrial manufacturing setting. The program adheres to the standards of the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Level 1 certification and aligns with the national standards for DOL machinist apprenticeship.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  1. Interpret blueprints for part speficiations
  2. Demonstrate ability to properly use and maintain machining equipment
  3. Produce complex parts with accurate measurements using conventional machining
  4. Demonstrate professionalism and responsibility in a work environment
