Program Description

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Advanced Skill Set is designed for entry-level students pursuing careers in the HVACR industries. The program focuses on the basic operation principles of commercial and industrial HVACR systems. These principles are presented through lecture and laboratory exercises in a step-by-step fashion by addressing refrigeration, heating, distribution, filtration, and control as individual subsystems. This program prepares students to enter the HVACR industry as apprentices with knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. A certification exam is offered for the EPA Section 608 Technician Certification. The certification is a national requirement for all people handling refrigerants.
