MATH - 125 ~ College Algebra Expanded 4 ILO 2 MATH 125 is a 4-credit hour course that consists of the algebraic, graphic, numeric, and modeling approach to the study of polynomials, equations, inequalities, and functions, with or without technology, and with appropriate symbolic manipulation skills. It includes the use of appropriate mathematical language, including symbolism, to define, evaluate, and analyze the characteristics of functions. Types of Functions to be investigated:
Linear; Absolute Value; Quadratic; Polynomial; Exponential; Rational; Logarithmic; Piecewise defined; Radical. Additionally, basic applications of right triangle trigonometry will be explored. Supporting topics include factoring techniques, the quadratic formula, rational and radical expressions, and function notation. This College Algebra course is designed to give additional support and review to students who lack a strong background in introductory algebra.
Pre-requisite(s): ACT Math 19+ OR SAT Math 510+ OR NG Accuplacer QAS 263+ OR MATH 119 (C or higher)
