HSRS - 276 Field Experience II 3


Students engage in a 300 hours clinical experience split into two courses, obtaining 180 hours each in a behavioral health facility/school/clinic/center of their choosing. This course represents the second experiential learning opportunity at 180 hours. Students will be afforded the opportunity to complete field experience and increase their competency in the addictions counseling domains while fulfilling the practicum experience requirements mandated by the state certification board. Ongoing supervision will be given by a qualified staff member on site and a faculty member off site. Students will be interviewed by the Department Chair/Program Coordinator and/or Clinical Coordinator to determine eligibility and suitability of placement. Students are required to submit to a drug screening and background check prior to placemen.

Pre-requisite(s):
ENGL 101

AND

HSRS 123 and HSRS 274

AND

Any college-level MATH
