TEWF - 100 Workforce Basic Skill + CPR/AED/First Aid 1

This class will teach students some of the basic skills required in the workplace to complement their degree or non-degreed program technical training. Topics covered are communication skills, basic computer skills, basic safety awareness training, math skills, employability skills (work ethic topics), construction drawings and workplace science principles. In addition, students will receive instruction on how to do an employment search. The second part of the course is designed to prepare students for CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. Curriculum will consist of instruction on how and when to use an automated external defibrilator for victims of cardiac arrest, proper techniques of administering CPR to adults, and the appropriate response to sudden ilnesses and injuries. The CPR/AED/First Aid portion will have a mandatory one-day on campus/in-person meeting for lecture and testing.
