This course introduces students to the Hazardous Materials Regulation (HMR), the basics of safely transporting hazardous materials, U.S. and international regulations that apply, and how hazardous materials are classified. Students also learn how to respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of the initial response to the site to protect nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of the release. This course is designed to equip first responders with the essential knowledge and skills to manage incidents involving hazardous materials safely and effectively.
