Skill Set Description

The Skill Set prepares students to gain employment as power company line service mechanics trainee through classroom studies and field operations.  Students start by completing a Workforce Basic Skills course.  If satisfactorily completed, they continue with an introductory class in Pole Climbing, OSHA 20 Hour and First Aid/CPR/AED.  Students desiring to continue then complete courses in Heavy Equipment, CDL Class A with a Pintle Hook and Fundamentals of Electrical Distribution.  This is the first step for students who desire to complete apprentice training.
