Program Description
The Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AAS-AMFT) degree program provides a highly interactive hands-on course of study that prepares graduates for careers in the modern manufacturing environment. Advanced manufacturing technology graduates repair, troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment including automated control systems, process control systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, robots, and application specific machinery. Graduates have a broad multi-disciplinary background in electrical, mechanical, fluid power, automation, instrumentation and process control systems, as well as basic fabrication skills in order to facilitate working with modern electro-mechanical machinery.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical and electromechanical systems and subsystems.
- Design and fabricate basic parts and fixtures using blueprints, 2DCAD and standard industrial machines.
- Perform competently in a laboratory or industrial setting; including tool selection, set-up, taking measurements, operating technical equipment, critically examining and interpreting experimental results, as well as properly reporting results.
- Describe and apply standard industrial safety practices and analyze safety concerns.
- Identify, analyze and utilize technical information to provide a basis for lifelong learning.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical and electromechanical systems and subsystems.
- Function effectively in teams.
