Program Description:
The Machinist Technology/CNC program provides students with the technical skills and knowledge needed to operate and maintain conventional and computer numerical controlled mills, lathes, and other machining equipment used in a modern industrial manufacturing setting. The program adheres to the standards of the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Level 1 certification and aligns with the national standards for DOL machinist apprenticeship.
Program Learning Outcomes:
- Interpret blueprints for part speficiations
- Demonstrate ability to properly use and maintain machining equipment
- Produce complex parts with accurate measurements using conventional machining
