Program Description:

The Machinist Technology/CNC program provides students with the technical skills and knowledge needed to operate and maintain conventional and computer numerical controlled mills, lathes, and other machinig eqipment used in a modern industrial manufacturing setting. The program adheres to the standards of the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Level 1 certifications and aligns with national standards for BOL machinist apprenticeship.

Program Learning Outcomes:

  • Interpret blueprints for part specifications
  • Demonstrate ability to properly use and maintain machining equipment
  • Produce complex parts with accurate measurements using conventional machining
  • Demonstrate professionalism and responsibility in a work environment
  • Produce complex parts with accurate measurements using computer nurmerical controlled (CNC) machining
